Hose Station No. 7 has stood watch over Davenport’s west end since 1905. Built in the wake of the East Davenport Fire, this Renaissance Revival brick firehouse once housed Hose Company No. 7 — four men, one captain, and the resolve to protect a growing city. For more than a century the bricks held firm through decommissioning, changing hands, and quiet years of waiting.
In 2020 Chris and Jill Rogers saw past the dust and boarded windows. What followed was six years of blood, sweat, and meticulous restoration — every original detail preserved, every modern necessity woven in with respect.
Today Hose Station 7 is reborn as a multi-use sanctuary for live music, gatherings, and unapologetic good times. Same bricks. Same soul. New fire.

A lifelong firehouse obsessive and a partner who believed in the vision. Together they turned a century-old hose station into the Quad Cities’ newest home for music, community, and late-night energy.
WHERE WE COME FROM
Hose Station No. 7 was born from necessity and grit. After the devastating East Davenport Fire of 1901, the city raced to build a network of neighborhood hose stations. In 1905 this red-brick outpost rose at 1354 West Fourth Street — complete with hose-drying tower, quoined corners, and the quiet authority of Renaissance Revival design.
For decades it answered the call. Captained by Christian R. Thiessen and staffed by a crew of four, Hose Company No. 7 stood ready while the west end grew around it. When modern stations made the old houses obsolete, the building never lost its character. It simply waited — listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 — until the right hands found it again
WHERE WE'RE GOING
We’re not here to freeze history in amber. We’re here to keep it breathing.
Hose Station 7 is now a living venue — bar, stage, gathering place, and red-lit sanctuary for the sounds that move us: rock, funk, reggae, jam, and whatever lights the room on fire. We host the nights that become stories. We open the doors to local artists, touring acts, private events, and anyone who feels the pull of these bricks.
The mission is simple: honor what came before while building what’s next. Flow strong. Fight fierce. And make damn sure the next 120 years are just as loud.
